BALIKA SAMRIDHI YAJONNA

This Scheme is being implemented in Jagatsinghputr District since 1997. Post delivery grant of Rs. 500/- is being paid to the mother of the girl child of the household below poverty line. The benefit is restricted for Two girl child irrespective of no of children in the family. The benefit is being paid to the beneficiaries by opening of a joint account in the name of the girl child and the CDPO/ SEO concerned on the recommendation of the Gram Panchayat.

NOAP :  

Rs. 200.00 is being paid to the beneficiaries for month under this scheme. Out of Rs. 200 for the state Govt. bears Rs. 50/- and central Govt. bears Rs. 150/-

 Mode of Payment :

This is paid to the beneficiaries the day of Jana Seva Divas e.c. 15th of each month after due identification by the PRI members.

 The target fixed for  Jagatsinghpur District is to Cover 10721 beneficiaries.

NATIONAL FAMILY BENEFIT SCHEME.

          This is a fully Central Sponsored scheme. Under this scheme Central assistance of Rs. 10,000/- will be provided to household below the poverty line on the death of the bread winner of the bereaved family.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :

  1.            The bread winner will be the member of the household whose earning contribute to the total household income.

2.            The death of such bread winner should have occurred while he or she is in the age group of 18 years to 64 years i.e. more than 18 years and less than 65 years.

3.            The bereaved household must be below poverty line.

 

WHOM TO CONTACT :

Block development officer of the concerned block or the Executive Officers of ULBs.

 FORMS AND PROCEDURES :

Application forms may be obtained free of cost from the Office of the Block Development Officer or Executive Officer of the Municipality / NAC concerned. To get such benefit the beneficiaries has to apply in the prescribed form to the concerned B.D.O.s/E.Os. The prescribed form on NFBS is as per Annexure – B.

 SANCTIONING AUTHORITY :

            The Sub-Collector sanctions benefit in favour of the beneficiaries on the recommendation of the B.D.O.s after due enquiry.

 Mode of Payment :

            The benefit is being disbursed to the beneficiaries by opening of Pass Book in the Bank or Post Office whichever is nearer to the legal heir at G.P. head quarters on the fixed date i.e. 15th of each month i.e. on the Jana Seva Divas after due identification by the PRI members.

NATIONAL OLD AGE PENSION SCHEME

This programme is being implemented in Jagatsinghpur District since 15th August, 1995. This Scheme provides benefit to the poor household in the case of old age, death of bread winner. National Social Assistance Programme includes the following components Viz,

National Old Age Pension Scheme (NOAP)

National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS)

 

1.      NATIONAL OLD AGE PENSION SCHEME (NOAP)

Eligibility Criteria :

The age of the applicant (male or female) shall be 65 years or above. The applicant must be a destitute in the sense of having little or no regular means of subsistence  from his / her own source of income or through financial support from family members or other sources. (must be below poverty line)

 Whom to Contact :

      Block Development Officer of the concerned block or the Executive Officers of ULBs.

 Forms & Procedures :

OLD AGE HOMES

The main aim ]of the programme is to provide accommodation, health nutrition recreation and refreshment facilities to senior citizens who are 60 years above particularly to the destitute and home less who have no body to look after them. There are two numbers of Old Age Homes in this District which are being managed by one Voluntary Organization i.e. ASRA. One is Balikuda and another is Raghunathpur with financial assistance of Govt. of India (Ministry of social Justice & Employment) and Govt. of Odisha (Deptt. Of W & CD) respectively

The aim of the scheme is to provide education to the Hearing Impaired, Visually Challenged and Mentally challenged children through special school. DRUG ABUSE SCHEME

SHORT STAY HOME

 “KALYANI” Short Stay Home, managed by RADHAKRUSHNA CLUB, Durga Bazar, Jagatsinghpur is running at Patenigaon, PO/Dist : Jagatsinghpur since 1.4.1995 with the support of Central Social Welfare Board, New-Delhi.

1.            INMATES :

The approved capacity of the Home is for 30 inmates. A destitute & distressed woman or girl who need shelter & other help has to be referred by Sarapanch / SHG / ICDS staff / any officer / NGO / reputed person of the locality to the home. After admission, she has given free, Lodging, fooding, Counseling, Recreation facility, medicine, Legal-Aid, Vocational Training & Rehabilitation etc under this project. One inmate can stay maximum 3 years in the home.

2.            VOCATIONAL TRAINING :

Inmates have imparted training on tailoring & appliqué, inscent sticks (agarabati) making, coir work etc. as vocational training for their future economic development. The training & rehabilitation officer (TRO) look after the training activities.

3.            EDUCATION FOR CHILDRENS :

Children within the age group of 7 years can stay with the mother. Maximum 7 children can accommodate at a time at home. There are facilities of free education for school going children.

4.            RECREATION & LITERACY FACILITIES :

The inmates have provided T.V., Radio, Ludoo, Playing cards, Newspapers & Magazines etc. for recreation & literacy activities at home.

5.            MEDICAL FACILITIES :

A lady medical doctor has visited the home regularly and treated the inmates & their children.

6.            REHABILITATION :

The Social Case Worker along with Counselor have done counseling with the inmate, family members & opposite party for rehabilitation & to solve the problems on mutual discussion.


FAMILY COUNSELING CENTRE

“PRAYAS” Family Counseling Centre is running from 1.4.2002 at RKC premises at Durga Bazar, Jagatsinghpur with the support of Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi. There is provision of the one Male Counselor & One Female Counselor to solve the problem through counseling, Home Visit, Joint Counseling etc. Total 268 cases have been registered out of which 202 nos of family dispute cases solved.

 SWADHAR SHELTER HOME, JAGATSINGHPUR

“NABA PRABHAT” Swadhar Home is running at the main road of Sipi Makundapur with the support of Ministry of Women & Child development, Govt. of India, and managed by RADHAKRUSHNA CLUB, Durga Bazar, Jagatsinghpur from 1.302005. At the end of the September 2006, total 72 nos. of women & 33 nos of children have got benefit from the project.

 Objective of the Scheme :

The following shall be the objectives of the scheme :

1.                  To provide primary need of shelter, food, clothing and care to the marginalized women / girls living in difficult circumstances who are without any social and economic support.

2.                  To provide emotional support and counseling to such women.

3.                  To rehabilitate them socially and economically through education, awareness, skill up gradation and personality development through behavioral training etc.

4.                  To arrange for specific clinical, legal and other support for women / girls in need of those interventions by linking and networking with other organizations in both Govt. & Non-Govt. sector on case to case basis.

 Target Group / Beneficiaries:

The following shall be the target group beneficiaries of the scheme :

  1. Widows deserted by their families and relatives and left uncared near religious places where they are victims of exploitation.
  2. Women prisoners released from jail and without family support.
  3. Women survivors of natural disaster who have been rendered homeless and are without any social and economic support.
  4. Trafficked women/girls rescued or runaway from brothels or other places or women/girl victims of sexual crimes who are disowned by family or who do not want to go back to respective family for various reasons.
  5. Women victims of terrorist / extremist_violance who are without any family support and without any economic means for survival.
  6. Mentally challenged women (except for the psychotic categories who require care in specialized environment in mental hospitals) who are without any support of family or relatives.
  7. Women with HIV/AIDS deserted by their family or women who have lost their husband due to HIV / AIDS and are without social / economic support, or
  8. Similarly placed women in difficult circumstances.

The Counselor of the Shelter Home has done counseling with the inmate, family members & opposite party for community rehabilitation & to solve the problems on mutual discussion.

From 1.2.2006, a 24 hours telephone service is available for the benefit of distressed Women & Girls of the district under Swadhar Scheme having telephone No. 06724-223384. Recently Govt. of India has sanctioned 5 digit number 10921 as tool free phone service and within very short period, installation will be done.
